Ocean Science Trust is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Dr. Kenneth Coale. A founding member of our Board of Trustees and longtime member of the OPC Science Advisory Team, Kenneth’s contributions to OST extended beyond his expertise in ocean sciences. Executive Director Liz Whiteman remembers his encouragement to think big and reach for the impact California can have as a leader in ocean science and policy, as well as his care for all OST staff. Former Director of the Moss Landing Marine Laboratories, Kenneth will be remembered for his thoughtful and forward-thinking leadership of the MLML and dedication to mentorship and educating the next generation of ocean scientists.
