Brandon Quintana is an experienced leader in coastal management working on applying science to accelerate equitable climate adaptation, and to provide scientific and technical advice to the state. With a strong belief in social equity, he approaches ocean solutions from an interdisciplinary perspective that incorporates education, environmental justice, and policy to advocate for low-income communities on environmental injustice issues they face while concurrently preserving natural and human landscapes.
Brandon is also a National Geographic Explorer, California Sea Grant Graduate Research Fellow, and educator with Orange County Coastkeeper. He serves as Co-Chair of the Western Society of Naturalists Student Committee, Ecological Society of America Environmental Justice Section Co-Chair, and recently joined the California State Coastal Conservancy Explore the Coast Advisory Board.
He is completing his M.S. in Biological Science from California State University, Fullerton and received his B.S. in Environmental Studies from University of California, Santa Barbara.
